There are better replicas of Maud Gonne's art, I'm sure as these are faint, but I'm still glad to have the book. The thin book has a nice font, no obvious typos such as in reprints by other publishers of other authors. S. Lewis’s Narnia tales and J. R. R. Tolkien’s sagas of Middleearth, and my late fascination with Neal Gaiman’s mythic pastiches, I had never been exposed to Celtic folklore. I picked up the beautifully produced Dover edition on a whim, and immediately was enthralled by the tone of the tale-teller and the sinuous grace of the illustrations.
